Last Monday, the sexy girl group SISTAR made their comeback, almost exactly a year after their last comeback ‘Shake it’. Their title track ‘I Like That’ was very different from their usual playful, summery concepts but we thought it was absolutely sensational, and hopefully you did too!
From looking closely at the lyrics, it is clear that the girls are angry at a man for cheating on them and now they don’t want to see him again. Although the MV is mainly dance focused, there are still elements of storyline which reflect the lyrics. For example, Bora cuts her hair short; a style which her boyfriend most likely didn’t like. However, now that they are no longer together she cuts it to show that she doesn’t want him anymore and that she’s moved on and has started a new chapter in her life.
As with AOA’s most recent title song Good Luck (click here for our review), the instrumental section is driven by brass instruments which sets the edgy mood depicted in the music video. This mood also comes across in the predominately black and red colouring of the set, which is reminiscent of one of their previous comebacks Alone. However, there is some white as well, such as Soyou’s dress when she is lying in the bed of red rose petals. Perhaps this stark contrast in colours is supposed to represent that these girls were in darkness before, but now that the man who hurt them is gone, they are stepping into the light.
We definitely think this is SISTAR’s best comeback yet and can’t wait to see the live performances!
