K-Idol Birthdays September!

Let’s kick off September with another month of birthdays!

September 1st – Jungkook (BTS)

This lovely guy turns 21 this month! After the release of their re-packaged album last month Jungkook has been a busy boy. Born in Busan, Jungkook wanted to become a badminton player before listening to G-Dragon and deciding he wanted to perform. At the age of 13, he participated in an audition called Superstar K3. He was eliminated before the final elimination round because of the “lack of emotion in his dance” according to Bang Si Hyuk. However, that didn’t stop him as he received offers from eight different talent agencies on the way home. And of course, in the end, he chose Big Hit! We all know that this guy has plenty of emotions in his dance moves and we hope he has a wonderful birthday.

This month we also celebrate Kim Namjoon’s birthday! RM turns 24 on the 12th of September. As the wonderful leader of BTS, Namjoon has been working hard and we appreciate and love him for his hard work!

September 3rd – Joy (Red Velvet)

Park Soo-yeong also known as Joy was born in Jeju Island, South Korea. She has two younger sisters and loves modern trot music. In grade school, she was influenced to become a singer after receiving praise for her rendition of Korean rock band Cherry Filter’s song Flying Duck She auditioned and was cast by SM Entertainment at the S.M. Global Audition in Seoul in 2012. She trained under the agency for two years, during which time a vocal coach gave her the stage name “Joy.” The rest is history! Red Velvet just had comeback with “Power Up.” Happy Birthday, Joy!

September 12th – Lee Chan Hyuk (AKMU)

Lee Chan Hyuk turns 22 this month. One half of the amazing brother and sister duo, is currently serving in the marines, having quietly enlisted on September 18th last year. Before we knew him, he lived in Mongolia with his missionary parents and sister.  After having won the reality show K-Pop Star 2, they eventually went on to sign with YG entertainment. Their debut album was written completely by Chan Hyuk and was a success, reaching number one in multiple music charts. We wish this talented guy a happy happy  birthday!

September 18th – Amber (f(x))

Amber makes us laugh with her funny videos and teaches us to love ourselves with her own self acceptance. This beautiful unique lady turns 26 this month! Born in America, Amber became a trainee at SM entertainment when she participated in a global audition in Los Angeles. After training for a year and a half she debuted as a member of F(x). This girl doesn’t stop singer, actor, ambassador, songwriter and the list goes on. Have a happy birthday Amber!!

September 23rd – Lee Hi

Born in 1996 Lee Hi turns 22. Just like Lee Chan Hyuk she was a contestant on K-Pop Star. She was the runner up on season 1 and signed with YG Entertainment too. She was originally meant to debut as a part of a girl group but the other members left and so Lee Hi became a solo artist. She debuted with the catchy single ‘1,2,3,4’. This incredibly talented lady deserves a wonderful birthday.
