K-Drama OST Spotlight

As we’ve said before, music is such an integral part of what makes a K-Drama even more special. So, we want to highlight some of the awesome OST songs that have come out in September so far. There have been many amazing songs, and cutting the list down wasn’t easy..but here goes.

Sohyang – Home (Strongest Deliveryman OST)

Legendary vocalist and Gospel singer Soyhang lends her amazing voice to this song. Rather subdued compared to Sohyang’s usual style of belting high note after impressive high note, which just goes to show how versatile she can be. A beautiful and emotional song that speaks from the perspective of someone waiting for a loved one to return.

Oliver – Miss You (The King in Love OST)

An interesting blend of traditional and modern sounds and instrumentation. Oliver’s amazing voice brings a sense of longing to this song, longing for someone we miss and want to see again. Everything comes together perfectly to create this amazing track, one that we will be listening to quite often for a long time to come.

The Barberettes – Beauty Queen (Live Up To Your Name OST)

Fun, funky, upbeat, very different from the types of Drama OST songs that are usually focused on, and that’s one of the reasons we love it so much. This kind of song is a great way to inject a bit more fun into what is already a very funny and interesting drama. The Barberettes have been making waves lately in the music scene, and it’s easy to see why. Their incredible voices and unique music style is so refreshing. If you haven’t heard their music before we recommend you check them out.

U-KISS – Run A Way (Manhole OST)

U-KISS effortlessly blend the happiness of being in love and the uncertainty of potentially not being able to be together with the one you love. A bittersweet song that matches the emotions of the main character well. The desire to run away with the one you love, away from all the business, distractions, and hardships of everyday life; to just be together. Side note, Jun’s singing voice sounds a little bit like Kevin’s…we miss you Kevin!

Here are a few more songs we recommend you check out…

That’s our list of some of our favorite drama songs that have released so far this month. There’s still plenty of September left, so no doubt there will be lots more great drama songs to come. Keep your eyes and ears out!
