EXO: For Life REVIEW

Once again, EXO has been able to touch our hearts with their Winter Special album For Life. The album consists of 5 tracks, one of which is also a title track. Equally as emotional as last year’s winter release Sing for You, the title track For Life reminds us of the deep love that can be shared between couples at Christmas.

The music video is storyline focused, as we follow three of the EXO members who are all in love with the female protagonist. What connects the four of them together is a silver bracelet with an orange gemstone in the centre, which is passed on throughout the MV. From what we can see, the MV has been split into two parts – the member’s point of view and then the woman’s, which allows us to see the same events from two different angles.

In terms of the music, it is just as simplistic as the setting of the music video, which makes it easier for the listener to understand the song lyrics. Moving and almost tear-jerking, it is clear that this song is about a love which has only strengthened over time, just as the lyrics become more passionate as the song progresses.

From simple piano chords to beautiful vocals, EXO’s winter comeback release definitely got us thinking about the special people in our lives. Why not take some time out this festive season to show your love for those you care about the most?
