The month of November is about to get even more exciting for Korean film fans! The London Korean Film Festival is about to land for one whole month treating us to a plethora of fantastic films AND we have tickets to give away to two incredible film screenings in London plus Q&A’s! Read on.
The London Korean Film Festival will take place in 11 venues in London, from 3rd – 17th November, after which a tour of major UK cities including Sheffield, Nottingham, Glasgow and more from 18th November finally concluding on 27th November. If you’re a fan of Korean film or film in general then you won’t want to miss out on all the action, check out the trailer below for a little taste of what to expect.
As this year’s festival is on its 11th annual run, expect to be treated to over 60 long and short features, in the form of: animation, documentaries, movies and UK Premieres with a fully packed schedule of exceptional Korean talent! This year’s special focus is The Lives of Korean Women through the Eyes of Women Directors.
In this theme of the lives of Korean women; two films Crush and Blush and Forever the Moment – both directed by female directors are being shown in Regent Street Cinema, London – and we’re giving YOU the chance to win tickets to see these two very special films!

Crush and Blush 미쓰 홍당무
Crush and Blush is a comedic coming-of-age movie for adults, following a Russian language teacher Mi-sook who suffers from uncontrollable hot flushes. Assigned to teach English, Mi-sook becomes colleagues with her first love from high school, Jong-cheol, who is having an affair with a young, attractive female colleague. Jong-cheol’s daughter Jong-hee then teams up with Mi-sook, fearing her parents’ divorce. No better than her student when it comes to self-esteem, Mi-sook forges an interesting relationship with Jong-hee as the director dwells on what it means to be the object of another’s affection.

Forever the Moment 우리 생애 최고의 순간
Forever the Moment – a popular box-office hit, the film dramatizes a real event: the Korean women’s hand-ball team’s winning the silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics. The two main characters are women who struggle to keep up with their team mates; as their physical abilities have decreased, due to their age. They must also deal with personal issues that they face as middle-aged women – such as family finances, child-care, and social discrimination against divorced women, as well as keeping their head in the game, bringing the audience to empathize and experience their joy and frustration in the last minutes as if they are our own!
