Jinhae Gunhangjae Cherry Blossom Festival
If you’re looking for one place, and one place only to catch these beautiful flowers, you absolutely have to visit Jinhae. Hosting the largest cherry blossom festival in the country, endless cherry blossom trees line Yeojwacheon stream and the railway tracks at Gyeonghwa station – both of which are a prime photo opportunity. As well as seeing cherry blossom around every corner, the town erupts into cherry blossom madness – marching bands, cherry blossom inspired snacks – it’s a real celebration of this beautiful flower which welcomes in Spring with such style.
Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival
Famed for its pristine beaches, volcanoes and incredibly chill vibes, Jeju is already a natural wonder. Embrace the island’s beauty at its finest during their annual cherry blossom festival. Jeju’s bloom is recognised as one of the most beautiful in Korea because the petals which sprout from their King Cherry trees are so big! If you want to catch the King Cherry trees at their peak, make sure you time your trip right, as these beauties don’t stick around for long!

Nami Island was one of the key filming locations for the incredibly popular television series, Winter Sonata. Retrace the steps of Jun-sang and Yu-jin or grab a bike and head to the famous lined road of trees which transforms into a cherry blossom dream in Spring. Covered in pristine trees, its breath-taking views and romantic atmosphere make this the ultimate cherry blossom location for all you k-drama fans.
Yeouido Flower Festival
Just because you’re in the big city, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the cherry blossom. In fact, the small island of Yeouido, located on the Han River, hosts one of Seoul’s most popular cherry blossom spots. Covered with a blanket of pink petals and perfectly lined with endless cherry blossom trees, the Yeouido Flower Festival is a pink haven. This scene becomes evermore beautiful at night, when the trees are given a new lease of life with a twinkling lights display.
Another of Seoul’s prime locations for avid cherry blossom fans is Seokcheon Lake. The circular walkway of cherry blossom trees surround the lake which make it the ideal spot for a leisurely stroll. Take some time out of Seoul’s chaos to enjoy the romantic atmosphere and just soak in this incredibly stunning area.
Gyeongju Cherry Blossom Marathon
If you want to swap that romantic stroll for a run, then Gyeongju’s Cherry Blossom Marathon is a truly unique way to experience the bloom! Set against the backdrop of cherry blossom trees, enjoy the electric atmosphere as you pass through incredible sites such as Bomunho lake. If you’re not prepared to take on a marathon, don’t panic, there are also shorter races you can take part in, so there’s something for everyone.
