Snail gel: K-beauty craze – TRENDS

From artichoke essences to placenta sheet masks, Korea is definitely known for its rather strange beauty crazes. One of the most recent trends, not just in Korea but all over the world as well, is snail gel. Today we’re taking a closer look at this unlikely beauty product and telling you what it does and why it’s so good for the skin.

Easily purchasable in most health food shops, snail gel is packed with collagen and lots of other nutrients. These ingredients help to make the skin feel young and supple. As well as this, 91-98% of the mucin used in snail gel is actually water, making it a good hydrator.

What really makes this product popular is the fact that it’s all natural. Since the mucin is found in the secretion of a common snail, there are no harmful chemicals in the product. All the additional nutrients such as glycolic acid also occur naturally, so you can be sure that it’s not doing any harm to your skin!

Found in sheet masks, creams and even essences, snail gel can be used in everything! We personally recommend the popular brand Mizon’s Snail Repair Perfect Cream, shown in the picture below:

It’s particularly useful for dry skin due to its hydrating properties, but in this cold season everyone should use it! Just apply it at the end of your morning or evening skin routine for the best results.

We hope that we’ve convinced you to incorporate snail gel into your daily beauty routine. After all, if the big Korean beauty brands are using it in their products, it must be good!
