Most Iconic K-Drama Couples!

With all the ‘valentine’s love’ in the air, we think it’s time to reveal to you some iconic couples from our favourite K-Dramas~!

1. Go Eun Chan and Choi Han-kyul (Coffee Prince)

First up we have Go Eun Chan and Choi Han-kyul from (one of our favourite dramas ever) Coffee Prince! Despite growing up living very different lives, these two characters overcame quite a few bumps and obstacles before they got their happily ever after.

But the main reason why these two have ranked in No.1 for this list is because they both accepted each other and their love was unconditional. Eun Chan didn’t let social classes or money get in the way of her feelings for Han-kyul, and in return Han-kyul didn’t care whether Eun Chan was a girl or a boy, he loved her anyway!

2. Geum Jan-di and Goo Jun-pyo (Boys Over Flowers)

One of the most iconic ‘enemies to lovers’ couple in any K-Drama has to be Geum Jan-di and Go Jun-pyo from the infamous K-Drama Boys Over Flowers! Even though at the start Jan-di despised Jun-pyo’s arrogant attitude and, after she stood up to him, Jun-pyo literally had the entire school bully her, the two overcame their hatred for each other, the obvious opposition from others and fell in love.

From romantic trips abroad to rescuing each other from pools to battling amnesia, these two stuck through various hardships, misunderstandings and more break ups than we, as an audience, could handle – and the fact that they always came back together in the end makes them another one of our top couples!

3. Gu Yong-ha and Moon Jae-sin (Sungkyunkwan Scandal)

Next up is a couple that, despite never being confirmed, has always been close to our hearts, and that couple is none other than Gu Yong-ha and Moon Jae-shin from the historical drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal!

Having been friends for ten years, this unlikely pair didn’t let their different personalities, social status’ or life choices get in the way of their feelings for one another, and they continued to support, care for and love each other (in their own ways) for the course of the drama.

Song Joon-ki (Yong-ha) and Yoo Ha-in (Jae-shin) even won the Best Couple Award at the 2010 KBS Acting Awards, and their reactions were adorable!

4. Joanna and Jo Doo-soo (Barefooted Youth)

Next up is Joanna and Jo Doo-soo from the classic 1964 film Barefooted Youth!

Much like other couples on this list, Doo-soo and Joanna had to overcome the wide gap between their social classes in order to be together – but even though Joanna was an ambassador’s daughter and Doo-soo makes money by doing odd jobs for gangsters, the pair do whatever they can to stay with each other and pay the ultimate price for their love.

Shin Sung-il (Doo-soo) and Eom Aeng-ran (Joanna) also fell in love in real life and got married in the mid sixties, which became one of the biggest offscreen stories of the decade!

5. Kang Mo-yeon and Yoo Shi-jin (Descendants of the Sun)

Next is another couple that made a big impact offscreen as they did onscreen, and that is none other than our beloved Dr. Kang Mo-yeon and Captain Yoo Shi-jin from Descendants of the Sun!

Despite parting ways due to their work and different moral compasses (with Shi-jin taking lives and Mo-yeon wanting to save them), the pair found each other again and refused to let even things like war and death keep them apart.

From their passionate kisses and cute banter to heart-wrenching reunions, we couldn’t tear our eyes away from the Doctor and Captain!

6. Do Bong Soon and An Min-hyuk (Strong Woman Do Bong Soon)

Last, but certainly not least, is a couple that many people were fond of back in 2017 because of how unbelievably cute and perfect they were together, and this couple is (of course) Do Bong Soon and An Min-hyuk from the brilliant drama Strong Woman Do Bong Soon!

Just thinking about this couple makes our hearts flutter, and it’s not difficult to see why! Throughout the drama, Bong Soon never stops looking out for Min-hyuk and always manages to protect him, whether it’s from bullets or his own internal conflicts. And in return, Min-hyuk does what he can to help Bong Soon master her strength and fulfil her dreams to create her own video game.

All in all, Bong Soon and Min-hyuk are the sweetest couple and are so unbelievably adorable it actually hurts us to watch them – but that doesn’t mean we’re going to stop!
