Cheese in the Trap 치즈인더트랩 – K-DRAMA REVIEW

IMG_3865

I had received mixed reviews about this drama, but wanted to see it for myself!

Originally this drama was a web-toon, and a lot of people disliked the fact that the drama changed the original story.

This of course is expected, as many books and manga are changed when made into movies and anime; it’s all about being fit for a television audience.

The overall story is your typical love triangle, with the lead female being gentle, soft and naïve.

The female lead Seol (Kim Go-Eun 김고은) is antagonised by the male lead Yoo Jung 유정

(Park Hae Jin 박해진), who takes a random dislike to her in their first year of university.

He follows her around and makes her think that she is going crazy, whilst provoking and causing his peers to suffer in a number of different side stories. All of which are twisted, malicious and vindictive.

The second lead male and female are brother and sister (in character), who were played by Seo Kang Joon 서강준 and Lee Sung Kyung 이 숭경.

Without giving too much away, let’s just say they lived a troubled childhood, and were almost adopted by Yoo Jung’s father, who is a rich business owner.

Yoo Jung was seen as a troubled child, and in the present day, he is seen as strange, and he stops at nothing to keep Baek In Ho

백인호 and Baek In Ha 백인하 out of his, and his father’s lives.

Again, without giving anything away, Seo Kang Joon and Lee Sung-Kyung are deeply involved in his life, and play a great part in the main issue of this drama.

The story soon unravels, and all of Yoo Jung’s crazy shenanigans soon start to make sense

In my opinion, the acting by Seo Kang Joon and Lee Sung Kyun overshadows the two main leads, as their characters go through terrible hardships, throughout the drama.

I can confirm that the story does slowly wind down, and the ending was a bit disappointing.

But have a watch for yourself, as it does start off very well!

  • I’m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a blog that’s both educative and interesting, and without a doubt,
you have hit the nail on the head. The issue is something that too few
folks are speaking intelligently about. I’m very
happy I came across this during my hunt for something regarding
    this.

what do you think?
